All activities are subject to weather conditions. Please call us after
8:00 am on the day of your visit if rain seems imminent.

Venue #1: Apple Barn & Orchard Tour - Children will be introduced to several varieties of apples, including talk about their interesting characteristics and uses. They will get to taste a mountain grown apple as well as some of our delicious apple juice. They will also see our commercial apple peeler in action. We will then go out into the orchard where they will learn how trees are cared for and what goes into growing a mountain apple. As part of the tour, each group will be presented with a box of our School Boy apples. The tour begins at 10:00 (promptness is appreciated), lasts about 30 minutes, and is $1 per student (adults free of charge).

Venue #2: U-Pick Pumpkin Patch - Children can select their own pumpkin from our patch. This activity is entirely dependent on availability. Pumpkins are usually ready by early October and may not last the month. This activity takes about 15 minutes, and is $1.50 per student for a pumpkin the size of the childs head.

Venue #3: Train ride on the Apple Ridge Express - We have an engine powered train that travels around two beautiful ponds. This is a very popular ride during the apple harvest season. A picnic area is located next to the train. The train is located at our sister facility, El Dorado Orchards, on North Canyon Road. The conductor will be waiting to begin at 11:00, and rides are $1.50 per student (adults free of charge). The train seats about 20 and takes about 5 minutes to make its loop.

If your group would like the opportunity to browse and shop at our Apple Barn and Country Store, please allow time prior to 10:00 (we open at 8:00 am) or plan a visit at the conclusion of school-related activities. In addition to bins and bins of fresh-picked apples, we offer a delightful array of baked goods, fresh juice and cider, as well as a wide variety of gourmet food items. Please remind children that Boa Vista is a place of business and monitor their behavior accordingly.
